1981 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit
The Restoration Process: Interior

The interior on this car was in mixed condition. The wood dash and vinyl top of the dash were in fantastic shape. I was extremely surprised by the quality these cars were built with when I opened the glovebox to find a very, very heavy door . . . made of completely solid wood.

Interior Overview

Top of Dash

The carpets are all in fantastic shape, thus needed no reconditioning. Much of the remaining wood has imperfections, but is definitely acceptable. Just like the following piece:

Rear Mirror

I will likely end up reconditioning the wood trim adjacent to each main window, but it is definitely not a priority. This brings us back to the leather on the seats. 3 of the 4 seats are just fine, very acceptable. However, the driver's seat simply needs the front portions completely replaced (click here to see damaged seat).

Front Seating Area (See Rear Seats)

I intend to have Hilborn Motor Car Interiors send me the necessary replacement covering for the driver's seat and then have the remaining seats in the car redyed to match the brand new leather. Make sure to come back by periodically to see the progress on this project, and thanks for stopping by!
