Lil' Viv's Wheel Situation
When I wanted to get my car . . . I had never driven one or test driven one, and I never got to. I just knew that was what I wanted. We ordered it, and my initial choice was black. We signed some papers, and I ordered chrome wheels along with the car. On there was something that said we will need to get the wheels chromed within three months of receiving the car. Later on, I got a call and made a deal on the red one. It did not have chrome wheels, just polished. I knew they were not chrome and continually informed the salespeople who sold me my car of my thoughts. They assured me they were chrome over and over and over. I came back again and again, and when I moved to college in Austin, I had temporarily let it go. Two years after the purchase date, my wheels had been bent through regular wear and tear (potholes, etc.), and I decided it was a convenient time to pursue this battle. I called them, and eventually went down there. After much battle, they wanted to chrome my existing wheels, but I didn't want that. The existing wheels were bent and would be of no use to me. They did not want to give me my one thousand dollars back, and we eventually just said that we will let an attorney handle it, and then they immediately told me they had new wheels for me. Toyota paid three hundred and forty five dollars a piece for the wheels, and then nine hundred dollars to chrome them. They should have just given me my money back when I asked for it, but I got all new non-bent wheels. =)
